Xiaomi EV announced on November 20 that its 500,000th vehicle has rolled off the production line, a milestone reached just 19 months after the brand began deliveries in April 2024.
The company framed the achievement as the beginning of its next chapter and thanked customers for their support. The production speed once again sets a new benchmark for China’s emerging NEV brands, highlighting how aggressively Xiaomi EV has scaled its automotive operations.
The company’s ramp-up has been unusually swift by industry standards. Its first 100,000 vehicles were completed in just 230 days. Delivery efficiency has continued to climb through 2025, with monthly volumes repeatedly surpassing 40,000 units and reaching 48,654 in October. Xiaomi is now closing in on its full-year target of 350,000 deliveries.

At the ceremony, Xiaomi’s founder, chairman, and CEO Lei Jun outlined what he described as the company’s three ongoing priorities. He emphasized an uncompromising focus on vehicle safety and delivery performance, projecting that Xiaomi EV’s 2025 deliveries will exceed 400,000 units. He also highlighted a sustained commitment to technological innovation, noting that annual R&D spending is expected to reach 32 billion to 33 billion yuan next year. The third priority is the deeper integration of AI with advanced manufacturing, which he believes will unlock new levels of production efficiency. “Expectations for Xiaomi EV are high,” Lei said, adding that the company intends to prove its capabilities through action rather than words.
Financially, Xiaomi EV reached profitability in September 2025—just 17 months after deliveries began. The timeline is considerably shorter than the roughly four years it took Li Auto and the two years for AITO, making Xiaomi one of the fastest new carmakers globally to turn a profit. Analysts estimate that third-quarter earnings reached around 700 million yuan, supported by strong sales of the SU7 and YU7, both positioned with transaction prices above 250,000 yuan.
Xiaomi EV is expanding production capacity in parallel with its rapid sales growth. Its first two plants can now produce more than 60,000 vehicles per month at full output, while a third facility and a new Wuhan plant are scheduled to enter operation in the second half of 2026. The company expects its annualized capacity to reach 1.2 million units, with the one-millionth vehicle projected to roll off the line by August 2026. Manufacturing relies heavily on automation, with more than 700 robots enabling fully automated die-casting, stamping, and other core processes, cutting the vehicle-off-line cycle time to just 76 seconds.
Looking ahead, Xiaomi EV plans to enter the European market in 2027, aiming to export its integrated “Human x Car x Home” smart ecosystem as part of its overseas strategy. As production continues to expand, the company will face the challenge of balancing strong order demand with its ambition to become a million-unit-per-year automaker.
